Mission & Values at St Joseph's College
To inspire the minds of all generations through education, with fearless faith.
As a united community we demonstrate our Lasallian values of faith, service, and respect.
As a united community we demonstrate our Lasallian values of faith, service, and respect.
Our story:
Welcome to St Joseph’s College, a proud institution with a rich history and a commitment to fostering a transformative educational experience. Established in 1855 by six De La Salle Brothers from France, we have grown and flourished on our current site since 1903, expanding in both size and impact.
As a vibrant Lasallian family, our community includes students, dedicated staff, engaged partners, and supportive members. Guided by the principles of the Gospel (love, compassion, justice, forgiveness, humility, and the promotion of community and service to others), we are driven to care for all young people, particularly those facing disadvantages. Our mission reflects the visionary spirit of St John Baptist de La Salle, the patron saint of teachers and founder of the De La Salle Brothers over 350 years ago. St. de La Salle was a 17th-century French Catholic priest and educational reformer who founded the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and was dedicated to providing free education to the poor.
Embodying this profound legacy, our calling is to broaden horizons, touch hearts, and inspire minds. We are committed to an education that goes beyond the classroom, promoting the transformation of lives, individuals, and societies. While continually enhancing our facilities, we remain steadfast in preserving the character and history that define our College.
We believe in all our community demonstrating our 5 Respects each and every day:
