THE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE PTA

To be an association of Parents and Staff of St. Joseph’s College. To foster co-operation between Parents and Staff. To promote activities for the benefit of parents, pupils and staff of the College. To support the College financially and raise funds to provide some of those “extras” for study and recreation which otherwise could not be provided.

 

FUND RAISING

During the course of any one academic year the PTA holds several events to raise money to finance projects in the College. Recent events and possibilities for the future include: Race Nights, Quiz Nights and Bingo Nights. E-Shopping Do your online shopping through thewww.buy.at/stjosephscollege website and raise funds for the school. You pay the same price but the companies involved in the scheme give a small percentage of your total spend to the College. Price Promise You pay exactly the same price as on the retailers main sites, often lower than on the high street.The commission earned comes out of the retailers profit margin - it is their marketing spend.

 

SOCIAL SUB-COMMITTEE

The Committee organises social events that allow parents to mix with each other. The Committee helps provide refreshments at most College functions. Parents’ help is always required on a rota system, and appeals for help are made throughout the year as occasions arise.

 

FINANCE SUB COMMITTEE

The Finance Committee meets twice yearly (approx) to consider bids for funds from the PTA from school departments. The Sub-Committee consults with the Headmaster and Senior Management Team and uses the School Management Plans to inform their decision-making. They make their recommendations to the full PTA Committee for approval.

 

THE PTA COMMITTEE

The current committee includes parents, past and present, and staff from the Senior Management Team. Meetings are held two or three times a term.
