On wednesday 2nd December St. Joseph's College was awarded the Status of 'Confucius Classroom'.

The status was given by Hanban the cultural arm of the Chinese Government. The College is now a centre of Excellence for Mandarin teaching and Chinese Culture. The College is only the 12th school in the country to gain this award.
