Drama is a popular extra curricular activity for the boys in the school. There are weekly extra curricular activities for pupils in both year 7 and year 8. Through these, students get the opportunity to learn performance skills, and depending on commitment, may perform a play themselves, or take part in theatre trips. Year 9 students take part in the Year 9 play, performed for the lower school before Christmas. They are also given opportunities to take part in workshops, in order to inform their choice of GCSE courses.

Drama is an extremely popular option for students at GCSE. The course gives them an opportunity to develop their own acting skills and techniques, but also to co-operatively devise and produce their own work. We have also introduced Theatre Studies at AS, to allow students to continue to develop their practical skills from the GCSE course and enhance them with study of the theory behind the theatre, through history. Parents are invited to come and watch student's work performed before the major examination dates. These can be found in the School Calendar.

Students also have an opportunity to take part in our annual school play, a major theatrical production that takes place once a year, in our school hall, and involves the students from all year groups. In the past, we have been lucky enough to engage with outside agencies to provide technical equipment, or live music, to provide the students with an experience of a spectacular theatrical event. Past productions include Lionel Bart's "Oliver!", "Pirates of the Curriculum", and "Not Quite Macbeth".
