As part of the English Department's 'Gifted and Talented' programme, organised by Mr Fuller, students in Year 10 were given the opportunity to go and experience Shakespeare as it was meant to be - at the Globe Theatre!! The boys went to see 'As You Like It' with Miss Stockman and Miss Willoughby and savoured the sights and sounds of the famous theatre. Encouragingly, the trip was enjoyed so much that there have already been enquiries about another trip!

Year 13 English Literature students saw an unusual production of John Webster's ‘The Duchess of Malfi' in March at Camberwell's Blue Elephant Theatre.
The Blue Elephant Theatre is the only theatre in Camberwell and it promotes cross-art-form work and all forms of theatre from physical and dance theatre to new writing and classics.
Once the sixth-formers had managed to find the theatre (which is tucked away in the middle of a housing estate - testing their map reading abilities to the maximum) they were treated to an unusual update of a play which should be set in the fifteenth century Italy.
The Blue Elephant's production was set on the eve of World War Two in Britain and it featured unique set changes with the actors moving all the furniture whilst singing or dancing. The small theatre was atmospheric and the play interesting, and certainly something none of them had experienced before.
The evening was enjoyed by all, and the opportunity to see the play was appreciated so close to their final exams.
