July saw yet another torrent of talent at the annual SJC Summer Music Concert. Nearly 70 boys from all year groups performed in a multitude of different ensembles and genres. Performances ranged from junior bands, African drum ensembles, piano recitals, upper school rock bands, sixth form bands, GCSE recitals, the SJC concert choir, Senior Jazz band and even the SJC Singers grabbed a piece of the action!

It was a particularly emotional evening as this was Mr. Connolly's final SJC concert as Headmaster. The students were on top song and even performed a special medley of Mr. Connolly's favourite songs. Students described it as an ‘honour' to perform for the headmaster and delighted parents and teachers alike with the evening's performances. 

The music department is continuing to go from strength to strength. There are increasing numbers of students studying individual instruments and the choir has grown to over 40 boys. The GCSE music classes are bustling and increasing numbers are now studying music at sixth form. There are over 8 performances in the diary for next year and there are currently plans for SJC first music trip! Watch this space for more up and coming action and performances.
