St Joseph’s College (Mathematics & Computing Specialist College) is a Voluntary Aided 11-18, all ability, Roman Catholic school for boys (girls in the 6th form). The Governing Body, acting through its Admissions Committee, will admit a maximum of 180 pupils each year at age 11.

St. Joseph’s College, following in the Lasallian tradition for over 150 years, gives “a human and Christian education to the young, especially the poor”, (Rule of the Brothers).

St Joseph’s College is a Catholic school, however we do welcome applications from children of other faiths and give such applications priority as described in the oversubscription criteria and notes in this policy. We ask all applicants and candidates applying for a place at the school to respect the college’s ethos and its importance to the college’s community, especially by participating in activities central to the ethos of the College.

If your application to join the College in year 7 has been unsuccessful, all applicants must register an appeal enquiry by 9am on Friday March 15th 2013. This enquiry can only be made in writing or via email, not over the telephone.

All requests to join the waiting list must also be made separately, in writing.

The Open Evening for Year 7 Admission in September 2013 is to be held on Tuesday 25th September 2012, 5.30-8-30pm.  Application packs will not be available before this event.

Sixth Form Application Forms

Please use the link below to download the application forms for St Joseph's College Sixth Form. The admissions criteria are also attached to the application form.

Please note that whilst we are obliged in our Admissions Criteria to state an "admissions number for external students" of "10", we are able to, and intend to, offer many more places than this.

We anticipate that for the academic year starting September 2013 the actual number of external students will be comparable to previous years and will be about 45.

The Open Evening for 6th Form Admissions in September 2013 is to be held on Wednesday 3rd October from 6.30pm.

Please see the 6th form area on this website for more information.
